Intelligent Fieldbuses & BIG Data
The trend within industrial automation over the past decade is the move to intelligent devices and the additional diagnostic data that is available from these devices.
TGN can design both conventional and intelligent control systems. We have Profibus and ProfiNET Certified Engineers who can design and implement intelligent systems. Despite the devices being slightly more expensive, Intelligent assemblies can save money in downtime, MCC footprint size, panel assembly time, IO requirements and installation costs.
The data in these devices can be used for maintenance both reactive and proactive. By linking these to alarms / alerts, transferring them offsite to other systems, action can be taken before downtime is incurred or reduce downtime in pin-pointing the issue to maintenance staff quickly.
Using OPC connections data within the PLC can be communicated to external systems for data analysis, performance dashboards or maintenance requirements. TGN can implement OPC communication internally to the plant or externally via approved secure cloud connections.
